Move player progress between devices
Export a SumNinja file to back up a player or bring their progress to another device. Import it to add a new player or update an existing one.
- 1Open SumNinja and tap the player name in the top right corner to open the player menu.
- 2Tap Import / export, then choose Export.
- 3Select the player you want to move and tap Export. A SumNinja file is created.
- 4Share the file however you like — email, AirDrop, a cloud drive, USB, or a messaging app.
- 5On the other device, open SumNinja and open the player menu.
- 6Tap Import / export, then Import. Choose the SumNinja file.
- 7For each player in the file, choose whether to add them as a new player or import into an existing player.
- What is in the SumNinja file?
- The file includes the player's name, emoji, color, settings, level history, and all completed rounds. It does not include other players or device-wide settings.
- What happens to existing data when I import into an existing player?
- The existing player's name, emoji, color, and settings are replaced with the values from the file. Completed rounds from the file are added to their round history — existing rounds are kept.
- Can I back up more than one player at once?
- Yes. When you choose Export, you can select multiple players. All selected players are included in one file.
- Can I use this before a Multiplayer session?
- Yes — if your players usually practice on different devices, each player can export their own data and import it onto the shared device before playing. That way everyone starts at their own level with their own history.
